The Needham High School Distinguished Career Award has been established to recognize former Needham High School students who have gone on to distinguished careers in their chosen field of endeavor.
By making a significant contirbution to our society, these alumni bring honor to themselves and to their school and community and therby serve as inspirations and role models to the students of Needham.
We greatly appreciate the enthusiasm with which individuals have nominated alumni for the Needham High School Distinguished Career Award, and welcome nominations recognizing other outstanding graduates. The committee receives nominations begining November 1st and ending May 1st.
Anyone may nominate a graduate of Needham High School, but persons nominated must have graduated from Needham High School at least ten years ago. Nominees will be mailed a profile form to complete and return, if they wish to be considered for the award.
Each year a committee of twelve persons appointed by the high school principal will choose up to three award recipients from among the nominees. The high school princpal and or his/her designee will serve as coordinator of the selection committee.
Selections are completed by June 25th. All award recepients are notified and must attend an award ceremony. Nominations for posthumous awards will be accepted. For nomination forms, please contact the High School or e-mail your request to Wdermody@aol.com.
